Exclusive agreement gives Rahi customers access to the first UPS Capable of reallocating power draw during peak consumption.
Fremont, Calif. — June 27, 2016 — Rahi Systems announced today that it has inked an exclusive distribution agreement with Methode Active Energy Solutions (AES), a division of Methode Electronics, Inc. The partnership authorizes Rahi to deliver the AC6000 Lithium-ion UPS to its customers – the first line-interactive UPS that both protects IT equipment from power outages and supplements the grid during periods of peak energy consumption.

After carefully evaluating various solutions, we determined the AC6000 is a green, eco-friendly product providing the ideal mix of features, capabilities and value.”
The AC6000 supplies up to 6000W of power for six minutes via a lithium-ion battery pack with a fully-integrated battery management system (BMS). With patent-pending peak shave technology, the AC6000 is designed to supplement grid power to the load during peak power consumption by pulling power directly from the battery and re-charging when peak consumption has passed. All of these features are packed into a compact 2U form-factor with integrated safety and thermal management systems.

The Methode AC6000 UPS provides us with an extremely compact form factor in 2U, providing full load for six minutes giving us the ability to perform necessary failovers to recover from a power failure. The long battery life of seven years without maintenance, and the eco-friendly way of recycling at the end of its lifecycle made our decision to deploy these across our POP sites easy,” said Gagan Singh, CEO of Cloud Insights.
“The total cost of ownership on the Methode UPS was less than 50% of the total cost of ownership of a traditional UPS. Installing these into our network infrastructure helped us eliminate a lot of maintenance costs, and provide a longer uptime and life of the product,” said Patrick Zhang, VP of Operations at CloudConnect.
